Little things are big things!

Little things are big things!

Little things are really big things that add up. It’s truly in the small details of our day-to-day lives that bring us the most joy.

I thought I'd put together a list of special moments that make me so happy.

  • Be spontaneous. Just do something, anything that is totally random and different than your day to day life. Whether thats trying out a new pool centre, playing a game of table tennis, catching up with an old friend, climbing a tree, shooting some hoops, trying a new drink, trying out a new place for dinner. Anything that is ‘new’.

  • Complimenting someone or placing a positive review. For example leaving a great Trade Me review or simply going out of your way to be kind to a complete stranger will bring yourself and the other person so much joy.

  • Ice water, or water out of a tap. Drinking water from the tap, you cant help but think of some people in the world who may not have this luxury. This is easiest and best way to remember how lucky you truly are. Your life may be crumpling down around you but if you can turn a tap on and drink clean water from the tap you are so so so lucky.
  • Stretching, massaging out sore muscles from the gym.
  • Coffee, I look forward to the aroma, smell and warmth of a coffee in the morning. It makes mornings the best time of the day. Stepping outside whether rain or shine. The cool breeze on my face instantly gives me a  sense of gratitude and positive perspective on life and the way I live it.
  • 10 minutes with Mackenzie, my mums dog. I view her as my little sister. Whenever I see her, I usually spend a good 10 minutes baby talking with cuddles and love.
  • My portable infrared sauna. During the week I love to indulge in using my at home portable infrared sauna 2 – 3 times a week. It still feels like a ‘treat’ to me because it still feels like a luxury because it’s that amazing. While warming up inside I like to concentrate on my breathing and calming my mind, body and spirit. After a long day, it really does feel like ‘taking the load off’. The same feeling as putting down your heavy bag you have carried all day or taking off your socks. It's a sense of release and feeling lighter. This is my number one favourite way to take care of me.
  • Rain. The day has come to an end. The house is clean and tidy, you jump into bed and hear light rain outside. HEAVEN!
  • Sand in between your toes and the view of the ocean with the waves rolling in.
  • Working out with headphones and then your favourite song comes on. It’s then you don’t feel the pain anymore. You just feel like an animal and so strong.
  • Reading a book you cannot put down. This only happens occasionally when I find a book that I cant put down but when it does happen it is ‘special’.
  • I loved one (romantic) putting their hand in yours. Obviously, someone you like though otherwise you may be squirming away.
  • Running on the beach. Runners high is a thing!
  • Playing a game you loved as a child. There really is nothing better than discovering that inner child underneath all our conditioning. My all time favourites are go home stay home, foot tag, the balloon game, tag in a pool, horses (hoops) the list goes on. Making time to connect with our inner child is so special. The inner child is still in us.
  • Clean, warm clothes straight out of the dryer. There's also something about having your washing done that makes you feel like you really have your s**t together.
  • A clean house. No. better. Feeling. Turns out once the house is clean we all turn into professional cleaners and every small details needs cleaning. Anyone who messes it up is in deep trouble too, haha.
  • Ice bath or cold shower. Makes me feel unstoppable. Pretty sure if I can do that theres not much more I can't.
  • Birds chirping! Or just seeing little birds hop around, they are so cute!
  • Stretching, massaging out sore muscles from the gym.
  • Perfume (nothing better)
  • Fresh sheets are amaaaazing!

And the list goes on. These were a few moments that came to mind while writing this blog post. We hope you love them and can make some special little moments this weekend.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Well Team

Morgan :)
